  Very good Mennonite home cooking. Served mostly buffet style but there is an a la carte menu to order from as well. You know the food is authentic when you see so many obviously Mennonite people crowding in and enjoying. The menu is pretty simple but lots of variety within some categories ie. 10 different types of salad. Meatball, chicken, perogies (actually the Mennonite equivalent with cottage cheese filling), ham or roast beef and of course farmers sausage are de rigueur. Try the homemade iced tea (extra charge with the buffet) Friendly serving staff in Old Order Mennonite garb (many of them normally wear it I am sure). The restaurant is nestled well inside the museum property so it can sometimes seem more like a carefully hidden local secret. Mostly it is locals and the visitors seem to be mostly family from out of town. It is definitely worth a visit. The kids will love being able to eat at one of the tables in the carefully restored (and spotlessly clean) horse stalls. Leave room for desserts (homemade pies, slices, crumbles etc.)

  the food is delicious! The new chef did an amazing job. We ate lunch today and I'm really glad we went there! I'm sure I'll come back

  Wonderful restaurant serving authentic Mennonite food in a picturesque setting. Great for families and visitors to Steinbach and the museum. Delicious dishes include perogies, farmer sausage, and homemade desserts including huge and goey cinnamon buns!
